[Matt] composed in to tell us about this project. He plans on travelling with his MSI Wind as well as desired much better audio recording capabilities. He made a decision to set up an extra microphone as well as a preamp. He made a custom-made preamp as well as wired it directly to the motherboard. The microphone was then mounted in the laptop screen. The second microphone is put opposite of the first, about 18cm apart which [Matt] declares provides it a binaural effect. We believe that this may just classify as stereo though. Wouldn’t you have to seperate them with a barrier or dampening gadget for binaural? It doesn’t truly matter though, stereo mics are a excellent addition to the MSI Wind, as well as he did it extremely well. He does point out that it picks up a great deal of noise though. There’s always space for improvement.
