Apple is taking the wraps off of its first ever special activity Challenge in the spirit of Thanksgiving, with a special sticker set to be awarded to fitness fans who take part in a 5K or 3.1 mile walk, run or wheelchair workout during November 24th.
The company has been making this known to Apple enjoy owners by sending them notifications relating to this challenge during this Monday morning. In buy for the challenge and associated medal to be unlocked, Apple enjoy wearers need to complete the required distance and have it logged by Apple’s Workout app or any third-party app that integrates workouts with HealthKit.
As pointed out by 9to5Mac, owners are receiving a notification on their Apple Watch, while the iOS enjoy app also displays this achievement up for an unlock, reading:
Earn this special achievement on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th when you complete a walk, run or wheelchair workout of at least 5K (3.1 mi) in the Apple enjoy workout app, or any app that records these workouts into the iphone health app. You’ll also earn a special Messages app sticker!
In addition to receiving a special medal, users who prosper in the challenger will also be rewarded with a special Messages app sticker which can be sent to their friends and family while iMessaging, presumably because there are fewer things people like a lot more than to make everyone aware of how much exercise they do!
To our knowledge this is the first time any kind of date or location-specific challenge has become available as part of watchOS, and may give us an insight into future challenges which could become available. This is also the first time a challenge has been time-limited, indicating it will not be available once the 24th pertains to an end. keep that in mind if you want to be one of those who can boast such a workout on the big day.
It’s also worth remembering that it is likely that this challenge will be a U.S-only affair, making the medal even a lot more rare.
